PostLen is a free, browser-based character counter and post preview tool for social media. It supports X (Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, YouTube, TikTok, and meta descriptions. Everything runs in your browser — your text is never sent to any server, making it completely private.
Simply type or paste your text into the main text area. PostLen instantly shows you the character count for each supported platform. Each platform card displays your current count versus the maximum allowed. The progress bar changes color as you approach the limit: green when you're well within limits, yellow as you get close, and red when you exceed it.
Click any platform card to see a live preview of how your post will appear on that platform. The preview mimics the actual look and feel of each platform, including profile picture placement, username display, and text formatting. This helps you catch formatting issues before you post.
PostLen supports image and video uploads to preview how media will appear with your post. You can upload up to 4 images or 1 video. The preview shows the media layout as it would appear on the selected platform. All media processing happens in your browser — files are never uploaded to any server.
